Astral Harvest & North Country Fair
July 17, 2014

I just got back from doing my first trip to the Alberta Festival scene and was thrilled with the productions, people and talent.
The first one I hit was North Country Fair, which is a community of amazing people who put together "no canned music" event. Something that is nothing like the rest, only live music, tons of jammin and connecting with the creation of music. Generally I've been to a lot of electronic festivals, and the last time I was at a live music festival was Bonfire Music Festival years ago. So happy I made the 18 hour trip to experience this event. I had the opprotunity to meet so many great musicians, and experience the best jams around the camp fire.
After North Country, we stayed on site to clean up and change around the stages to a whole new layout to prepare for Astral Harvest which is located on the same grounds.
Two weeks of crazy weather changes from hot, sunny, rain, thunder storms, and wind storms that brewed up to 100km winds! I helped sew some Lycra for the main stage which was decorated by a team of people from Mexico. Astral Harvest was a smaller festival compared to Shambhala, the community vibe was there, and the art production was high. Surprisngly many artists and producers from Vancouver were there, but I also got to meet so many new faces of Alberta and beyond.
I will definitly be making both of these festivals a priority desination on the cirquit and hope to see you there next year!
As for now Its time to get back to preparing for my Basscoast Project installation where we will be working with the Pirate Radio stage.
Basscoast will be my last festival this summer and also my last event with the collective Mohnstr and Queen. I hope to sea you there to sea the installation we have been working on this year. Its been a fun ride but I'm closing this chapter to make room for some bigger projects that focus on moving forward with my art, business, and overall creative health. I would love to have your support in making this last event a good one also to help me raise funds to move onto the next edition of this scallywags journey. Thank you all in the awesome times shared - the inspiration - the network - the friends and family who have been with me through all the ups n downs... Can't wait to release my newest production that have been many years in the making.
